DIVIDEND STOCKS: TWO IT COMPANIES ANNOUNCE PLANS TO REWARD SHAREHOLDERS ALONG WITH Q2 RESULTS SO FAR

India Inc. has started announcing dates for their respective quarterly results for the July-September period. Two IT companies have announced their respective dates and plans to also consider dividend, if any, to pay its shareholders.

The board of Infosys will meet on Thursday, October 17 to consider its September quarter results as well as propose an interim dividend.

Infosys will also declare results for the first half of financial year 2025 on Thursday, October 17.

Infosys had earlier paid a total dividend of ₹28 earlier this year, which included a final dividend of ₹20 and a special dividend of ₹8 for financial year 2024.

In 2023, the company had paid an interim dividend of ₹18 per share in October and ₹17.5 per share in June, which was the final dividend for the previous financial year.

Since the Covid-19 pandemic, Infosys has paid ₹147.5 per share as dividend to its shareholders.

Infosys has also issued bonus shares in the 1:1 ratio to shareholders in2014, 2015 and 2018 in the recent past.

Coforge is the other IT stock that has announced that it will hold its board meet on Tuesday, October 22, to consider its September quarter and half yearly results and a dividend proposal if any. The record date for any such dividend will also be determined at the same board meet.

Coforge has declared an interim dividend of ₹19 per share in each of the last six occasions, starting February last year, taking the total to ₹114 per share. In the seven preceding instances, the company had announced a dividend of ₹13 each since May 2021, taking the total to ₹91 per share.

Since 2021, Coforge has paid nearly ₹200 per share to shareholders as dividend.

Shares of Coforge have been underperformers so far in 2024, having risen 12%, compared to the Nifty IT's 22% gain. Infosys shares on the other hand, are up 26% so far this year.
