'GOAT' BOX OFFICE COLLECTION DAY 2: VIJAY'S COMMERCIAL DRAMA IS LIKELY TO EARN OVER RS 40 CRORE ON A WORKING DAY
'GOAT,' starring Thalapathy Vijay, is performing exceptionally well at the box office. The film opened with strong numbers and has been maintaining impressive responses in bookings since its release. 'GOAT' grossed around Rs 80 crore worldwide on the opening day, and it's a record start. According to Cinetrak, Vijay starrer peaked well in advance sales for the day 2 and the film earned over Rs 12 crore from the pre-sales for the second day. 'GOAT' has reportedly surpassed Rs 25 crore across locations on day 2 till the evening shows from the tracked locations, while the overall number for the day is likely to zoom past Rs 40 crore. Despite a working Friday, the box office number for 'GOAT' promises to be a successful one, and the action entertainer is set right to peak high during the weekend.
The success of 'GOAT' is fueled by positive word of mouth, strong audience support, and high praise for Vijay's performance and the surprising cameos. The film's mix of entertainment and references to popular Tamil actors has also contributed to its popularity, further boosting its box office earnings. But the makers are yet to officially confirm the film's box office numbers, and they are likely to stun fans soon.
Directed by Venkat Prabhu, 'GOAT' features Vijay in a dual role as father and son, and the makers used a de-aging technique to film the 50-year-old actor's younger character in the film. Sneha, Prshanth, Prabhu Deva, Ajmal, Jayaram, Mohan, Yogi Babu, Vaibhav, and Premgi Amaren play key roles, and the film features music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
