‘DUNE: PART TWO’ BEGINS BOX OFFICE RUN WITH $12 MILLION HAUL IN PREVIEW SHOWS; RECORDS HIGHEST COLLECTION AFTER 'BARBIE' AND 'OPPENHEIMER'

'Dune: Part Two' has kicked off its theatrical journey on a winning note. The Denis Villeneuve earned an estimated $12 million in preview screenings, Variety reported.

The report further went on to state that the Imax screenings allotted film, raked in an impressive $4.5 million. The film is currently being screened at 3,400 theatres.

Trade experts are forecasting a good opening weekend haul ranging between $70 million to $80 million, with some estimates soaring as high as $90 million.

Comparing preview figures, 'Dune: Part Two' has effortlessly surpassed its predecessor, 'Dune: Part One', which debuted during the pandemic with $5.1 million in previews. The previous instalment commenced its theatrical journey with a $41 million opening weekend, culminating in a global box office triumph of $402 million.

The buzz surrounding 'Dune: Part Two' is palpable, with its preview earnings standing as the highest since the preview collections for "Barbie" and "Oppenheimer" last July.

Clocking in at 2 hours and 46 minutes, the sequel promises an extended and immersive cinematic experience for audiences worldwide.

Returning cast members including Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgard, Javier Bardem, and Dave Bautista. They were are joined by newcomers Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken, Lea Seydoux, and Anya Taylor-Joy.
