IRISH MAN WINS RS 2,000 CRORE LOTTERY, NOW RICHER THAN DUA LIPA AND HARRY KANE
It's not every day that one wins a lottery. And surpassing the net worth of pop icon Dua Lipa and football star Harry Kane by hitting a jackpot worth 208 million pounds (Rs 2,194 crore, approximately) is out of anyone's wildest imagination. An Irish man, however, got lucky with exactly that. He is now placed among the wealthy elite featured in The Sunday Times Rich List 2025, The Mirror reported.
According to the report, the man won Ireland’s 18th EuroMillions jackpot, the highest in the country’s history. The winner hit the jackpot with the numbers 13, 22, 23, 44, 49 and Lucky Stars 03, 05, and the winning amount now surpasses the wealth of major celebrities, including Kane—whose net worth is estimated at 115 million pounds—and Lipa, who has an estimated wealth of around 110 million pounds.
Cian Murphy, chief executive of the Irish National Lottery, urged players to check their tickets and contact the National Lottery headquarters. “We are advising our players to check their tickets and, if they are the winner, sign the back of the ticket, keep it safe, and contact National Lottery HQ and we will guide you through the claims process,” Murphy said.
"The details surrounding the winning ticket will be revealed over the coming days. With such a big win we have procedures to follow, but we will reveal the winning location as soon as we can.While this is a massive win, it can come as a shock to a winner and we advise them to stay calm, get independent legal and financial advice and contact us as soon as they can," The Mirror quoted Murphy.
EuroMillions is a lottery game where players from European countries can win huge jackpots by picking five numbers from 1 to 50 and two Lucky Star numbers from 1 to 12. The tickets are available online every day from 6.00 AM until 11.00 PM, the official website of the UK National Lottery stated.
