'Chandu Champion' reached the benchmark of Rs 50 crore after its second weekend at the Box Office. The Kartik Aaryan-starrer is purely working on positive word-of-mouth. The collection of the second weekend saw a drop as compared to the opening weekend but led to a decent total. The film earned Rs 14 crore nett in the second weekend, taking the overall collection of 10 days to Rs 49.25 crore.
'Chandu Champion' is facing tough competition from 'Munjya'. The Sharvari Wagh and Mona Singh-starrer is also enjoying good word-of-mouth and that's the reason it has managed to divide the audience's choice. The supernatural film has collected Rs 83.2 crore in 17 days and is expected to cross the benchmark of Rs 100 crore in its lifetime run.
'Chandu Champion' has got another week of free run before 'Kalki 2898 AD' hits the screen this Friday and takes over. The advance booking for the Prabhas-starrer has begun and is off to a terrific start in India. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film is a sci-fi fantasy and has already sold over 2 lakh tickets by the end of Sunday on Book My Show alone, reported the trade website sacnilk.
With five more days to perform at the ticket window, 'Chandu Champion' is expected to wrap up its lifetime run at around Rs 60â62 crore. A lot also depends on the performance of 'Kalki 2898 AD'. While the first weekend will remain packed in theatres, only good word-of-mouth from the audience will take its run ahead from Monday onwards. And if the film fails to impress the audience, things will start working in favour of 'Chandu Champion' again.
